Benefits Of Getting Involved With The 'Internet Community'

Yesterday, I had received an email asking my advice on how to bring more people(traffic) to a website. On this posting, I will be sharing some of the ideas that I had shared while responding to this query.

First of all, lets look at your website and place focus on what it actually is. A lot of people have created their own, because it is "the cool thing to do". It is a way of letting the 'Internet World' know that you are their new neighbor and that you would like to get to know them better.

Now in a business sense under the same context, it is as if you are having your first "Grand Opening", and are welcoming customers into your new 'local Internet Market'. Your website in this case, becomes the open sign, or the flashy billboard which makes the statement that you are ready for business!

More specifically, your web page is the gateway to a community and the doorway to your residency in this community. This community we will now refer to as 'The Internet Community'.

Okay so you have moved in and put your mailbox up, now what?

You may be asking yourself: Why are people not coming to visit me? I have made my home look as inviting as possible, it is a nice place! But, why are people not coming to see my place? Here is where our adventure begins!

Yes, I know that setting your house up and creating an inviting atmosphere was a lot of work. I understand this, but now you have to become involved with the community and invite people into your home.

A way that will bring the site(your home) into better focus, is by posting blogs. Not only will this get others involved, but it will help better define alternative methods for future events that will relate. You have already opened the door now, lets go a step further. Post blogs on every subject imaginable to your goal oriented purpose. Use Links to network your site with every resource that you find that details or relates to your goal. Start emailing people that you come across during your research and get information from them. Share that information and then share your experiences as your success becomes more prominent. This is the true meaning of networking with your "Internet Community". I know that this is an elaborate description. But within all the underlying details here, there is a recipe for success. It narrows down to being resourceful and responsive. Take your resources and then become an intuitive implementer.

Now I will warn you that this is a time consuming thing (as you are finding out), but with practice and patients I believe that you will also find that people are empowering. The more knowledge that you gain by doing these things and by becoming more involved: I think you will find the rewarded efforts will out weigh your doubts, and this process will simply become a tool which will inspire you even further.

Network with other resources (people) on the Internet and find an active online community which is currently involved in services offered to this "Internet Community". By becoming a part of their service and adding to their community, then you will have established a successful approach to networking. The more online communities that you get involved in, the more you link to your site, and the more you link to your site, then the larger this network ('Internet Community') grows.

Remember this: Research first – find a service that works, Then get involved – become a part of this service (get to know the people in this ‘Internet Community’) ask questions, post blogs on their sites, and be helpful where you can, build relationships. Then Link them to your site.

This is what I believe to be the best advice that I could have possibly given. If you have any ideas that would be helpful here, please share them with us here in this 'Internet Community'. We look forward to hearing what you have to say and until next time, have wonderful day!

Thank you.
